Adds nice vertical interest to spring landscapes.
For large, colorful accents in the late spring garden, consider these long-lived, shrub-sized perennials. The profuse, elongated flower spikes of Baptisia, or Wild Indigo, are held above mounds of thick foliage. Black, pea-like seed pods are often used in dried arrangements. Very resilient and drought tolerant once established. Not fussy about soil type and seldom needs dividing.
