The flowers of Japanese iris (Iris ensata) are the largest of all iris, often 8 inches or more across. The blooms resemble huge orchids with their rich colors, unusual markings and crepe-like texture. They are delightful for cutflowers and are eyecatchers in the garden. Japanese iris put on their show about a month later than Siberian iris, in late June or early July. We've assembled a mix of outstanding named varieties in a wide color range that's sure to please the most discerning gardener.
